If you think having a few beers and throwing darts is getting a little tired, then you’re in luck. This January, Craft Axe will open in downtown Columbia. That’s right, you’ll be able to enjoy craft brews and channel your inner lumberjack while throwing tomahawks at dart-board like targets. Craft Axes website claims to offer experiences from casual axe throwing all the way up to competitive leagues. Walk-ins will be welcome, and you will also be able to reserve one of the 14 axe throwing lanes via their easy to use online reservation system. According to their website, “axe throwing is a game that anyone can play (and win).” Whether you’re planning a bachelor or bachelorette party, want to hang out with friends, family, or even looking for some corporate bonding with your work team, Craft Axe thinks you should give them a try.
The 4000 square foot facility will be located at 700 Gervais Street and plans to open Jan. 31. Craft Axe Columbia will feature 14 throwing lanes and they have applied for permits to serve craft brews. Each of the 14 throwing lanes will accommodate 2 to 4 throwers at a time and will run each participant $20 per hour.
“We are excited to have our expert professionals help social, corporate and league groups in Columbia hit a bullseye in a safe, fun environment,” said Craft Axe Throwing co-founder Jake Jensen on the Craft Axe website.
According to the FAQs on their website, you must be at least 10 years to throw and anyone under the age of 18 will need adult supervision. If you’re worried about how to throw the axes, their AXEXPERTS will be more than happy to teach you how to throw before all sessions and will make you aware of rules to ensure your experience is as safe as possible.
