You won't believe the art that you can find in Sumter's galleries.
When you think of art galleries, you probably think of big cities. Well, Sumter is a small town with a lot of talent! There are several art galleries in Sumter that feature local artists and artists from in and around the Midlands.
The USC Sumter has four different art galleries in two buildings. Each gallery has a different focus. Some feature student and faculty work while others feature local artists.
The Upstairs Gallery is located on the second floor of the Williams-Brice-Edwards Administration Building. The University Gallery and the Umpteenth Gallery are located in the Anderson Library. The William J. Reynolds Gallery is also located on the second Floor of the Williams-Brice-Edwards Administration Building. The William J. Reynolds Gallery contains a permanent collection of aerospace art donated to the University by the Reynolds family.
The Sumter Gallery of Art is located in the Sumter County Cultural Center. It is a 24,000 square foot facility with three exhibit galleries downstairs and seven classrooms upstairs. The Gallery is able to offer Sumter and surrounding communities the finest in art exhibits and educational opportunities.
