Indiana Man Builds his Largest American Flag at the Vista’s new Carolina Western Pub

What started as a D.I.Y. gift idea for his parents turned into a full-on business and now Indiana's Matt Miller is building his biggest American flag here in Columbia!

We ran into Mr. Miller while visiting Columbia’s new Carolina Western Pub in the Vista.  Matt, a United States Navy Veteran, built his first American flag for his father’s birthday, and the rest was history.  Soon, people started to take notice of the unique patriotic work that Matt produced, and he was able to turn a hobby into a business.

Matt’s company, MizzleMade LLC. creates handmade American flags using raw wood, distressed with a blow torch and painted with a variety of custom colors that show support for our troops, law enforcement, firefighters, and first responders.

Matt met Mark Segal at a mutual friend’s wedding and when Mark decided to open his new restaurant in the Vista he knew Matt had to come to Columbia to build his biggest flag yet.
You can see Matt’s flag at the, now open, Carolina Western Pub in the Vista right next to the Art Bar.

Visit the Carolina Western Pub to see Matt’s awesome tribute to our nation’s flag and stay for the awesome food and country western atmosphere.
