Soda City Market's classic Colombian food stand has opened a brick and mortar store, and we were there to find out what Mary's Arepas are all about!
Mary Romero and Gustavo Obeso and family started selling Mary’s arepas at Soda City Market three years ago, when their 12-year-old son decided he wanted to earn some extra money. The arepas were an instant hit and after three years at the market the Mary has decided to share them with Columbia all week long!
While the arepas are a must try, especially if you’ve never had them, Mary will also happily make you some of her delicious empanadas, sweet Colombian cheese sticks or a bowl of their deliciously seasoned beef, pork, or chicken.
This place is definitely worth a try, or two!
You can try one of Mary’s Arepas for yourself at 904 Knox Abbott Road in West Columbia.
