The Cola Town Bike Collective makes a difference in our community with the Sprocket app and more.
Officially, The Cola Town Bike Collective is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization of bicycle users whose mission is to educate and empower the community by providing a welcoming space to learn about bicycle repair, engage in maintenance practices, and promote safe operation through outreach and advocacy activities.
For founder, Scott N., is simply sharing his love of bikes and riding.
The Collective sells bikes and even donates bikes to those in need of reliable transportation.
That is how loyal Wrencher, Stephanie Royals got involved! You can find her busy repairing bikes when they are open on Sundays from 1:00 – 6:00 pm. The Collective is located at 711 Elmwood Avenue in Columbia.
Beyond repairing bikes, the collective promotes safety and manages Sprocket, which is a web-based app that was recently launched. The app provides safe and alternate routes for bike riders in and around the Midlands.
The Collective is also very involved in the community. On May 18th, The Cola Town Bike Collective will be hosting an album fundraiser party for Dear Blanca. Three bands and several artists will be featured alongside Smokey Loggins barbecue. Cotton Town Brew Law will be sharing the custom beer that they created for the event. Transmission Arcade is also bringing games from their arcade.
