Fall activities are right around the corner and folks are already gearing up for The City of Newberry’s Oktoberfest.
This will be held in historic Downtown Newberry on Saturday, October 6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Now in its 17th year, the Newberry Oktoberfest has grown to become a regional event that draws an estimated crowd of 26,000 people. This festival of German heritage has something for everyone and admission is free.
Visit an array of fine arts and craft vendors, spread throughout the festival area. Authentic German food, quality barbecue, gourmet, and American fare will be available in the food court. The 2018 event will now feature two Biergarten locations offering a variety of domestic and German imported beers.
Live music will play all day including polka and German traditional tunes, rock and roll, and variety hits at the Rocktoberfest Stage. At 12 p.m. the stage will host the Best Traditional German Outfit contest for anyone attending the festival in traditional Bavarian attire.
