We finally know what is going to happen with the old Harper’s building in Five Points!
The Charleston-based barbeque joint, Home Team BBQ, has announced that they are opening up a new location this winter here in Columbia – more specifically the Five Points area. The restaurant will be moving into the old Harper’s building located at 700 Harden Street.
Over the next several months, the Home Team BBQ crew will be working to create an atmosphere that resembles their other restaurants, while adding some elements that will be unique to the Columbia location.
“More than anything, we look forward to contributing to the Columbia community and embracing the spirit of the city that makes it such an interesting, unique place as both a college town and our state’s capital,” chef/pitmaster and operating partner Aaron Siegel said. “We’re excited for the opportunity to become part of the landscape here, and to support and serve Columbia’s residents as best we can. Harper’s was a family-friendly institution in Columbia for the last 27 years, and we hope to continue that legacy of service.”
This will be the fifth location for the barbeque chain and the largest one at 6,500 sq. ft.
The menu will be similar to what is offered at other locations. Guests can expect lunch, dinner, brunch, and late-night service to be provided at the new location.
