Columbia will have a front row seat for a total lunar eclipse! Join the South Carolina State Museum for a special after-hours viewing of this unique astronomical event!
The event will take place on Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 5 p.m. until 1 a.m. Admission is $5 for the general public and is FREE museum members. Planetarium shows are an additional $5 for the general public and $4 for members.
Lunar eclipse totality begins at 11:41 p.m. with maximum eclipse at 12:12 a.m. Totality ends at 12:43 a.m.
Eclipse viewing is dependent on clear skies. In the event of poor weather the museum will still be open and will offer guests the opportunity to watch a livestream of the eclipse in the BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina Planetarium.
