PalmettoPride presents the Plogging with Pride 5k

Join PalmettoPride for the first 5K: Plogging With Pride on Saturday, April 6th in Columbia, SC.

This 5K fun run will help clean up a neighborhood in the Columbia community and raise awareness about the litter issues across our state. Plogging With Pride is the only 5k in town where the litter winner takes all.

“Plogging” (noun) – picking up litter while jogging.

This environmental and exercise combo improves your community and your health at the same time. PalmettoPride, South Carolina’s anti-litter organization, and Keep South Carolina Beautiful want you to help PalmettoPride kick start Great American Cleanup 2019 with the first Plogging With Pride 5K Run Walk.

Take off at the start line with your bag and gloves, stopping to grab any litter you see along the course. Feel good because you are making a difference by cleaning up your community! All participants will be receiving PalmettoPride prizes as they cross the finish line. Top race finishers will be rewarded with special prizes from local Midlands businesses, as well as a prize for the participant who brings back the most trash.

The race will begin at Middleburg Plaza, located at 2700 Middleburg Drive, Columbia, SC 29204 and take racers through the Forest Acres neighborhood. Registration and packet pickup will be available at Strictly Running.

The sponsors for this event are: Columbia Country Club, The Corner Blend, GarboGrabber, Pure Barre Columbia, Terrapin Outfitter, Todd and Moore, and Village Idiot Pizza. All proceeds support initiatives promoting South Carolina anti-litter and beautification efforts.
