Columbia restaurant breaks Guinness World Record for most expensive seafood dish

The Twist is celebrating breaking a Guinness World Record for one of the most expensive seafood dishes in the world on July 23 from 7 p.m.-8 p.m.

For the past year, Chef Lazarius Ken Leysath Walker of The Twist has been hard at work putting together the most delicious, and most expensive, seafood dish the world has ever seen. On Tuesday, his hard work pays off. Unveiling the never-before-seen plate for the first time to the public, The Twist’s recent accolade marks the first Guinness World Record held in South Carolina.

Attendees will be able to celebrate one of the biggest days in history with free appetizers and a special opportunity to dig their fork into the award-winning dish.

Proceeds of the dish will go toward Future All-Stars, which was founded by Chef Walker. The charity provides local teachers with the funds to more adequately supply their classrooms. A special plaque reveal will take place thereafter.

The event will take place at 9300 Two Notch Road, Suite L in Columbia.
